Ipapo Community Prepares for 52nd IDU Day Celebration

The Ipapo Descendants Union (IDU) is thrilled to announce its 52nd annual celebration, scheduled to take place from November 8th to 10th, 2024, at the Ifebasiri Cooperative Building in Ile Mole, Ipapo, along Owode Road. This yearly event serves as a significant gathering for Ipapolites both at home and abroad, celebrating heritage, unity, and progress within the community.

In preparation for this highly anticipated occasion, the IDU executive committee has been actively engaging members and encouraging widespread participation. Recognizing the importance of this gathering, the IDU leadership has been raising awareness about its purpose and long-term goals for the community. Following the 2022 Ipapo Day, the IDU national body launched a fundraising initiative aimed at renovating the Ipapo town hall, an effort that has garnered considerable support from Ipapolites globally. This project aims to provide a fully functional and welcoming venue for future gatherings and community events.

Invitations have been extended to all IDU branches, with expected attendees from cities including Iseyin, Otu, Okaka, Saki, Ibadan, Lagos, Ogbomoso, Abeokuta, Oyo, Kiama, Igboho, and Baani, as well as international locations such as Lome, AJASE Port Novo, USA, UK, South Africa, and neighboring Ipapo villages.

A number of notable dignitaries are set to attend the three-day celebration, including Alhaji Jimoh Adebayo, the President of IDU; Barrister Biodun Ogunjinmi, the Ipapo Legal Adviser; IDU branch presidents; representatives from law enforcement agencies, school principals, local Baales, high chiefs, and HRM Oba Yekini Ademola Abioye II, The Eleyinpo of Ipapo Land. The event promises to be a vibrant and meaningful occasion, offering a unique opportunity for members of the community to connect, celebrate, and contribute to Ipapo’s continued development.

This year’s Ipapo Day is shaping up to be a memorable and impactful gathering, reflecting the strength, unity, and resilience of the Ipapo community and its enduring commitment to growth and heritage.
