Vehicles and Motorcycles Without Headlights to Be Confiscated — Eleyinpo-in-Council Warns

In a decisive move to safeguard lives and ensure public safety, the Eleyinpo Traditional Council has announced the enforcement of strict measures against all vehicles and motorcycles operating without functional headlights within Ipapo metropolis during nighttime hours.

According to the Council, the enforcement will be carried out by private security personnel in collaboration with the Nigeria Police, Ipapo Division. Any vehicle or motorcycle found plying major roads and inner streets without headlights at night will be immediately confiscated.

Speaking on the development, His Royal Majesty, Oba Yekini Ademola Abioye II, the Eleyinpo of Ipapo, emphasized that this decision became necessary to curb the rising cases of reckless driving and to protect the lives of innocent residents.

> “We cannot continue to watch careless drivers endanger the lives of our people. The life of one citizen is more precious than millions of naira,” Oba Abioye declared.

The monarch further appealed to residents of Ipapo to cooperate with law enforcement officers and community security personnel to ensure full compliance with this directive.

Oba Abioye also urged commercial motorcyclists (Okada riders) and motorists to exercise caution, particularly by reducing their speed while driving within the town, to prevent avoidable accidents and tragic incidents.

> “Safety on our roads is a collective responsibility. Every driver must understand that a moment of carelessness can cause a lifetime of sorrow,” the Eleyinpo concluded.

Folarin, Secretary to Eleyinpo of Ipapo Land
