On Saturday, October 5, 2024, the Ipapo community experienced a historic occasion as His Royal Majesty, Oba Yekini Ademola Abioye II, the Eleyinpo of Ipapo Land, officially commissioned Good News Comprehensive High School. This event, long anticipated by the community, marks a pivotal moment for education in Ipapo. The presence of prominent figures such as high chiefs, clerics, and parents, along with teachers and families of the Bobajiroro of Iwere Oke, Chief Ajayi R.O., highlighted the significance of the day.
The school’s establishment comes on the heels of an announcement made during the 2023/2024 academic session’s closing ceremony, where the proprietor unveiled plans for the school’s construction. Fast forward to the commissioning, the newly constructed classrooms and administrative offices are now set to facilitate an enhanced learning environment for students, creating a well-structured space for academic excellence.
In a symbolic gesture to inaugurate the institution, Kabiesi Eleyinpo, alongside other dignitaries, planted a tree on the school grounds. This act was not only a tribute to the school’s future but also a metaphor for the growth and development it promises to bring to Ipapo and its surrounding communities.
The ceremony also featured prayers and blessings from religious leaders representing various denominations within the Ipapo community. Their presence underscored the support the school has garnered from all corners of society, reflecting the unified hope for a brighter educational future for the region’s children.
Good News Comprehensive High School is expected to serve as a catalyst for progress in Ipapo, not only improving educational standards but also creating job opportunities for the youth. This initiative aligns with the broader vision of community development, bringing tangible benefits to the lives of its residents.
The event was an overwhelming success, with goodwill messages pouring in from stakeholders across the community, all looking forward to the positive impact the school will have on the region for generations to come.
