The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Bayo Lawal, on Tuesday, conducted an inspection of critical road infrastructure projects in the Oke-Ogun region, on behalf of Governor Seyi Makinde.
The inspection covered the ongoing construction of the Ago-Are–Saki link road passing through Okudi, Oyada, and Tede, as well as the road network connecting the Ikere Gorge Dam in Iseyin. These projects are being executed in partnership with the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP).
Speaking during the inspection, Deputy Governor Lawal emphasized the strategic importance of the roads in enhancing agricultural productivity and opening up rural communities to economic opportunities.
“These infrastructure projects are designed to improve access roads for our farmers, boost agricultural activities, and further stimulate the economy of the Oke-Ogun zone and Oyo State at large,” he said.
The projects are part of the Makinde-led administration’s broader commitment to rural development and economic expansion through improved transportation networks.
Local residents and stakeholders have applauded the government’s efforts, expressing optimism about the positive impact the roads will have on mobility, trade, and social development within the region.
