THRILLS AND VICTORY: AYANWALE HOUSE STEALS THE SHOW AT MUSLIM HIGH SCHOOL IPAPO’S 11TH INTER-HOUSE SPORTS

The 11th Annual Inter-House Sports Competition of Muslim High School, Ipapo, reached an electrifying conclusion on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. Organized under the dynamic leadership of the school’s principal, Mr. Azeez W.A., the event saw an impressive turnout of students, staff, parents, and esteemed dignitaries.

The competition opened with a captivating march-past ceremony, where Imam House, adorned in vibrant red, led the parade. A highlight of the event was the traditional lighting of the sports torch, a role of honor fulfilled by the Sportsman of the Year, Mr. Oyetunji Rokeeb.

The day was packed with thrilling competitions, including 100m and 200m sprints, relay races, wheelbarrow races, high jump, tug of war, and the demanding 1500m race. Special events such as staff races and the much-anticipated Old Students’ Race added an extra layer of excitement to the proceedings.

Ayanwale House, dressed in radiant yellow, emerged victorious, claiming the championship trophy and earning bragging rights as the overall winner. Other houses, including Eleyinpo House (blue), Ogungbola House (green), and Imam House (red), also put up commendable performances and were recognized with trophies.

In his royal address, HRM Oba Yekini Ademola Abioye II, the Eleyinpo of Ipapo Land, represented by Chief Muraina Orisasona (Teetu of Ipapo Land) and Chief Afonja Rahmon (Mayeloye of Ipapo Land), praised the school’s management and parents for their dedication to nurturing the community’s youth. He emphasized the pivotal role of sports in enhancing cognitive and psychomotor development among students.AMOFIN BEULAH

The Sportsman of the Year, Mr. Oyetunji Rokeeb, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the school management for the recognition and encouraged his peers to prioritize sports, citing its numerous benefits for personal and academic growth.

The event welcomed a host of distinguished personalities, including HRM Oba Yekini Ademola Abioye II, represented dignitaries, Mr. and Mrs. Kasaba, security officers, stakeholders led by Alhaji R.A. Azeez, and PTA executives led by Alhaji Asiru Amad Adeniyi (Alfa Glo). Principals from neighboring schools, such as Mrs. Olayode (Oke Amu Community College), Mr. Kilani (Muslim Grammar School, Okaka), and Mrs. Oyeniran (Ipapo Community Grammar School), also graced the occasion.

Commendations flowed from the sports committee, who applauded the athletes for their discipline, maturity, and sportsmanship throughout the event. They urged participants to celebrate responsibly and continue striving for excellence.
