The President of Ipapo Descendant Union (IDU), Lagos Branch, Chief Rafiu Owolabi, Bobajiroro of Ipapo Land, has urged landlords and landowners in the Ipapo community to develop a modern town plan. This appeal was made during the 52nd Annual General Meeting of IDU, held on November 9, 2024, at Ifebasiri Cooperative Building along Owode Ipapo road.
Chief Owolabi emphasized the need for new roads that will connect all streets and locations in Ipapo seamlessly. Given the rapid building construction in the area, he stressed the importance of circular roads to facilitate easy movement. Additionally, he advocated for reserving strategic land for future projects, including:
- Event Centre: A dedicated space for community events and gatherings
- General Hospital: A healthcare facility to cater to the community’s medical needs
- Government Residential Areas: Designated spaces for government officials and institutions
Mr. Akeem Olayiwola Olajide Arowomole also reminded landlords of the importance of providing adequate toilet facilities to prevent disease outbreaks.
Effective town planning is crucial for Ipapo’s sustainable growth, as it ensures equitable distribution of resources, efficient transportation systems, and environmental sustainability. By adopting a comprehensive planning approach, Ipapo can become a model for other communities.
