On Thursday, 5th September 2024, the Future Leaders Development Initiative, Ipapo (FLDII), held a prize-giving ceremony at ADS Basic School, Ipapo, to recognize outstanding students who excelled during the holiday tutorial class for the 2023/2024 academic session. The event was a platform to celebrate academic achievement and inspire future success among students in the community.
The event featured speeches from facilitators and representatives of the FLDII. Mr. Folaranmi Thomas, the English Language teacher for both Junior and Senior Secondary School classes, highlighted the importance of essay writing and consistent hard work. Miss Idowu Afeezat Kehinde, the Economics and Business Studies facilitator, encouraged students to focus on building good character and fostering positive relationships. Mathematics teacher, Hon. Sodiq Mojeed Abiodun, advised students to create a structured study timetable, while Mr. Taiwo Haroon, who taught Government and Social Studies, emphasized the significance of choosing good friends in their educational journey. Mr. Sulyman, who handled English and Literature, spoke on the necessity of mastering grammar, punctuation, and collocations.
The Chairman’s speech was delivered by Mr. Kilotomo Rafiu, who represented FLDII alongside Mr. Azeez Aminu Olamide. Mr. Kilotomo conveyed the chairman’s message, extending gratitude to the facilitators and urging students to embrace the educational opportunities provided by the initiative.
Mr. Azeez Aminu Olamide provided a comprehensive overview of FLDII’s various programs. He highlighted the organization’s commitment to offering scholarships, mentorship opportunities, and excursions aimed at broadening students’ academic and social horizons. These programs are designed to equip students with the skills and resources they need to excel both academically and in their personal development.
During the prize-giving segment, Azeez Aliat (JS III), Babayemi Peace (SS II), and Tijani Qudus (SS III) received awards for punctuality. Hammed Balikis was recognized for her excellent recitation of the National Anthem. All participating students were also presented with prizes as a reward for their efforts and dedication during the tutorial program.
The event ended with a heartfelt appreciation to the Amofin Beulah Olufemi Adeoye Foundation for supplying teaching materials, FLDII for providing stipends for facilitators, and Alhaji Tajudeen Olayiwola for sponsoring the prizes awarded to outstanding students. Mr. Babayemi Taiwo offered prayers for the continued success of the students, facilitators, and organizers.
This prize-giving ceremony underscores the FLDII’s unwavering commitment to nurturing young talents and providing them with the necessary tools to succeed in their educational pursuits.
