Barrister Abiodun Ogunjimi, an illustrious son of Ipapo, has issued a clarion call to fellow Ipapo indigenes to fulfill their financial commitments well before the November deadline, to ensure the smooth continuation of critical community projects.
In his recent address on the Ipapo Descendants Union WhatsApp platform, Barrister Ogunjimi emphasized the importance of avoiding the last-minute rush, imploring his fellow kinsmen to pay their levies promptly. He urged all members to pay their dues, make donations towards the renovation of the Ipapo Town Hall, and honor their pledges towards the Union’s Constitution.
Highlighting his personal contributions as a demonstration of commitment, Barrister Ogunjimi revealed that he had already subscribed ₦100,000 towards the launch of the Ipapo Descendants Union Constitution. He also announced that he had paid his annual dues of ₦20,000 and pledged ₦1,000,000 towards the renovation of the town hall. Of this amount, ₦400,000 has already been paid in advance, leaving a balance of ₦600,000, which he is committed to fulfilling before November 10, 2024.
In a significant development, Barrister Ogunjimi also disclosed that his absence at the upcoming General Meeting, scheduled for November 11, 2024, coincides with the presentation of two critical addresses at the Court of Appeal in Ibadan. He remarked that the symbolic timing of these two events could not be overlooked, viewing it as a sign of impending victory. “As you feel my absence due to unforeseen events, I trust you will reinforce your prayers for my success,” he stated. He further assured that despite his absence, his financial commitments to the community would be fulfilled in full.
Barrister Ogunjimi noted that his financial contributions were not just a fulfillment of his obligations but also a prayerful sacrifice. He seeks divine favor ahead of the legal addresses he will be presenting, which pertain to the Soun of Ogbomoso Chieftaincy dispute—a case in which the High Court of Ogbomoso had previously ruled in his favor.
He expressed his hope that other members of the Ipapo Descendants Union would follow suit and promptly fulfill their financial obligations, thereby ensuring that the union can continue to advance the interests of the Ipapo community effectively.
