HRM Oba Yekini Ademola Abioye II Arowosoba, the Eleyinpo of Ipapo Land, departed Togo on Sunday, December 29, 2024, after a three-day condolence visit to the widow and children of late Alhaji Sanusi Alaka. The visit, which began on Friday, December 27, 2024, was a remarkable display of respect and solidarity with the Ipapo people in diaspora.
The Eleyinpo’s visit to Togo was a significant gesture, demonstrating his commitment to the Ipapo people, both at home and abroad. During his stay, Oba Yekini Ademola Arowosoba expressed heartfelt gratitude to those who cared for Pa Sanusi Alaka during his illness and old age. He was accompanied on the trip by a distinguished entourage, including Chief Teetu of Ipapo Land, Chief Mrs. Otun Iyalaje of Ipapo Land, Iyaloja of Ipapo Land, Baale Owode of Ipapo Land, and the palace scribe.
The Eleyinpo of Ipapo Land was seen off at the Ilokoja border with Benin Republic by Alhaji Yusuf Alaka and Jafar Alaka, who ensured a reputable and royal sendoff. This dignified departure reflected the high esteem in which the Eleyinpo is held by his people. The visit also underscored the importance of encouraging Ipapo people in diaspora to invest in their homeland, fostering economic growth, development, and unity among the Ipapo people.
In his farewell message, Alhaji Yusuf Alaka, former Ambassador of Togo to Kuwait, advised Oba Eleyinpo to promote human and capital resources. He emphasized the need for youths to prioritize education as a means to fast-track community development. Alhaji Yusuf Alaka also encouraged youths to cooperate with the monarch to secure government appointments and recruitment opportunities.
