On Friday, December 27, 2024, HRM Oba Yekini Ademola Abioye II, the Eleyinpo of Ipapo Land, traveled to Lome, Togo, to pay his respects to the Alaka family following the passing of Pa Sanusi Alaka, also known as Oluwaniipekoyeni. Pa Alaka’s demise on December 24, 2024, sent shockwaves throughout the Eleyinpo Royal Family worldwide.
Professor Alaka Yusuf, former Ambassador of Togo to Kuwait, remembered Pa Sanusi Alaka as a renowned Yoruba Muslim scholar in Lome, who led the community of scholars until his passing. Oba Yekini Ademola Abioye II eulogized Pa Alaka, stating that he lived a fulfilling life, fostering strong family bonds and uniting family members both at home and abroad.
During his visit, the Eleyinpo of Ipapo Land was received by prominent family members, including Alhaji Jimoh Aderaye Baale Owode of Ipapo Land, Alhaja Khadijat Salaudeen, and Alhaja Risikat Alaka. The monarch took the opportunity to express his gratitude and pray for those who cared for Pa Sanusi Alaka during his old age. In a show of unity and solidarity, the Eleyinpo of Ipapo Land urged the Alaka family to continue upholding the values and legacy of Pa Sanusi Alaka.
