Ipapo, Oyo State – Thursday, 19th December 2024, marked a significant milestone in the annals of the Ipapo community as the Nigeria Police Force Ipapo Divisional Police Headquarters officially unveiled its Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC). The historic event, held at the police headquarters, was graced by an array of dignitaries, including traditional rulers, community leaders, and top police officials.
The ceremony was honored by the presence of HRM Oba Yekini Ademola Abioye II, the Eleyinpo of Ipapo Land; HRM Oba Gasali Omotoso, the Olugunwa of Oke Amu Land; Assistant Commissioner of Police (AC) Akanle; Pa Omoyele, the life patron of PCRC in Oyo State; and CSP Adebisi Taiwo, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ipapo Division.
The Oyo State PCRC Executive Chairperson, represented by Alhaji Sikirulah Mustapha, inaugurated Chief Rahmon Afonja as the leader of the PCRC executives. Other executive members inaugurated include Mr. Olayiwola Akeem Olajide as Secretary, Mr. Ibrahim Kolajo as PRO 1, and Chief Olukotun Oke Amu as Vice Chairman.
In his inaugural speech, Pa Omoyele emphasized the importance of adhering to the ethics of the association. He reiterated that the PCRC is a recognized body under the Nigeria Police Commission, established to foster cooperation and collaboration between the police and the community.

The launch of the PCRC in Ipapo signifies the unwavering commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to community policing and partnership. The Ipapo community expressed optimism about the PCRC’s impact, citing its potential to enhance security, promote community engagement, and instill a sense of ownership and responsibility among its members.
