The Beulah Adeoye Foundation continued its Amofin Beulah Adeoye Unity Debate Competition on Wednesday, engaging secondary school students across Oyo State as the competition expanded to Oorelope and Iwajowa Local Government Areas.
The debate took place at Oorelope Grammar School in Igboho and Ilupeju Grammar School in Iwere-ile, creating an environment where vibrant young minds could sharpen their critical thinking, public speaking, and argumentative skills. The competition promoted a culture of healthy discourse and intellectual engagement among the students.
Participants delivered passionate presentations on various topics, demonstrating an eloquence and depth of understanding that captivated both the audience and the judges. The competition yielded impressive winners:
Oorelope Local Government Results:
- First Place: Anifalaje Jamiu, Oorelope Grammar School – 75 points
- Second Place: Abdulraheem Ashiat, Igboho-More Community Grammar School – 70 points
- Third Place: Abdullahi Roheemat, Ifelodun Grammar School – 65 points
Iwajowa Local Government Results:
- First Place: Babalola Ruth, Baptist High School Iganna – 83 points
- Second Place: Hamzat Abubakar, Baptist High School Iganna – 79 points
- Third Place: Akinfenwa Janet, Ilupeju Community Grammar School Iwere Ile – 59 points
Additional Participants in Iwajowa LGA:
- Olaide Ayomide, Ilupeju Community Grammar School Iwere Ile – 57 points
- Ajayi Theresa, Iwajowa Community Grammar School Ijio – 39 points
- Emmanuel Seyi, Iwajowa Community Grammar School Ijio – 35 points
Winners received cash prizes and certificates of excellence in recognition of their achievements. Comrade Ridwan Fasasi, Chief of Staff of Amofin Beulah Adeoye, expressed his appreciation: “We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Judge, the corps members, the teachers, and the students who made this event a success. On behalf of Amofin Beulah, I thank the management of the host schools for their support and coordination.”
