The Oyo State College of Education, Lanlate Ipapo Study Centre has commenced its second semester examinations for the 2023/2024 academic session. The exams, which began on Friday, October 4, 2024, follow the successful completion of academic activities for the semester.
During a monitoring visit to the centre, the Coordinator, Mr. Kareem F.A., expressed gratitude to the Oyo State Government, led by Governor Seyi Makinde, and the college management for their efforts in making higher education accessible to less privileged individuals in remote areas like Ipapo. He praised the government’s commitment to expanding educational opportunities in underserved communities.
Mr. Kareem also commended the dedication of the teaching and non-teaching staff, whose consistent support has ensured the uninterrupted operation of the Ipapo Study Centre since its inception in 2016. The centre offers a wide range of programs, including subjects such as English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Yoruba, French, Islamic Studies, Christian Religious Studies, Political Science, Social Studies, Business Education, and Technical Education.
He took the opportunity to encourage prospective students to apply for the available programs, which lead to the award of the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE). Mr. Kareem emphasized the importance of the centre’s role in providing high-quality education to students from all backgrounds.
As the second semester examination got underway, Mr. Kareem praised the chief invigilator, Mr. Sulaimon, for ensuring that the exams started on schedule. He also reminded students to adhere strictly to the institution’s rules and regulations, urging them to avoid any form of malpractice that could result in disciplinary action.
The ongoing exams mark an important phase for the students, as the college continues to promote academic excellence and access to higher education across the state.
